Thyroid Ultrasound
At ScanMe, our Thyroid Ultrasound service provides a safe, non-invasive assessment of the thyroid gland using high-frequency sound waves. This scan is commonly used to investigate a lump in the neck, thyroid swelling, changes in the size of the thyroid gland or other symptoms that may indicate a thyroid abnormality. A Thyroid Ultrasound can help assess thyroid nodules, cysts, goitre and other conditions affecting the thyroid gland. As ultrasound does not use radiation, it is a safe and effective way to investigate thyroid and neck symptoms and help determine whether further assessment or treatment may be required. We offer private Thyroid Ultrasound appointments at our Mullingar, Longford and Sligo clinics, with all scans performed by experienced sonographers and reported by a Consultant Radiologist.

What can a Thyroid Ultrasound detect?
A Thyroid Ultrasound can help diagnose a wide range of conditions affecting the thyroid gland and surrounding tissues, including:
