To rule out aneurysm.
To rule out ovarian cyst, complex ovarian mass, Fibroids, Pelvic Inflammatory Disease, Tubo-ovarian abscess, free Pelvic Fluid, and Abnormal Thickening of the endometrium. A Trans-Vaginal Scan is included.
This scan is done to assess the blood flow through the Carotid arteries in the neck which supply the brain. The Vertebral arteries are also examined. Reasons to have this scan are to look for plaques that narrow or block the vessels causing blood flow disturbances. Symptoms may include dizziness, momentary blindness in one eye, headache or TIA (mini stroke).
To Rule out deep vein thrombosis.
To assess the Liver, Pancreas and Spleen. Rule out gallstones and/or Kidney stones.
To evaluate the enlarged prostate and measure the post-void bladder volume. To assess the Kidneys for obstruction.
To evaluate a palpable lump (one you can feel) anywhere on your body, excluding the breast.
